Live at Parish Park
Synopsis
On a cool autumn day in a park in Orleans, Massachusetts, local busking fixture Kevin “Coyote” Linnehan gathers friends, acquaintances, and passing strangers to sing and tell stories. Between original songs and covers of old favorites, Kevin revisits his colorful past in the music and arts worlds of the 1970s and ’80s—from “the heart of Boston” to New York and Hollywood. His stories feature familiar names from classic rock lore: Asa Brebner, Andy Pratt, Jonathan Richman, Robin Lane, and Andy Summers. There at Kevin’s invitation is Carol, a photographer and friend from his New York days whom he hasn’t seen in years. The two recall shared adventures, former flames, and youthful ambitions. Kevin also brings her up to date on how caring for his aging parents brought him to the Cape decades ago—and kept him there. Live at Parish Park is a funny, tender portrait of an artist with plenty to sing about—and an audience that takes neither his stories nor his set list lying down.
